At the end of each year, I do my year in review. It’s not just a feel-good journaling exercise — it’s my way of reflecting on the key insights. As part of this review, I ask myself: What were my top 5 professional highlights?

Before sharing mine, I’d like to invite you:

What are your 5 professional highlights from last year?

Here are my 5 highlights:

1. World Premiere at Berlinale

This is really two highlights in one. I had the privilege of being part of the short film documentary I Don’t Want to Be Just a Memory. On set, I was responsible for set management, set awareness, and ethical guidelines.

In 2024, we premiered at Berlinale Forum, followed by screenings at incredible festivals worldwide. It was unlike anything I’d experienced before. Through this process, I learned so much — about psychological safety, grief, joy, filmmaking, and community.

And this perfectly leads to my second highlight:

2. Publishing My First Vlog

Six years ago, I vlogged for the first time. But in 2024, I took on a bigger challenge — creating my first English vlog. I documented the filmmakers’ journey to DOK.fest Munich 2022, one of Europe’s largest documentary film festivals.

I went through a process of not knowing what to record at any minute, simply following the creative process. I learned a lot about storytelling, filming, editing, sound, coloring, and: myself and the source of inspiration. You find this vlog here.

Balancing creativity and science is central to my work, which brings me to my next highlight:

3. Video Lecturer for M.A. Coaching

Around New Year’s Eve 2023/24, I finished scripting and producing the video lectures for the module Methods in the Coaching Process as part of the Master's distance learning program in Coaching at IU International University of Applied Sciences.

Beyond presenting theories, frameworks, and scientific evidence behind various coaching methods, I was highly encouraged to share my personal experience, best practices, and case studies involving different coaching interventions.

We all know that teaching is one of the best ways to learn, and I loved every step from A to Z.

Another highlight of last year was simply:

4. People’s Excitement About Coaching

The people — those I worked with directly in coaching or connected with during workshop breaks, coaching days, or leadership retreats.

Last year’s conversations around coaching reached a whole new level!

The curiosity for coaching, both as a format for personal and professional development and as a leadership approach, blew me away. Pure fuel for my passion for improvisation and coaching!

Through my Instagram stories, I already documented another highlight:

5. Kicking off the Transformational Coach Training

In 2024, I started a new qualification: Transformational Coaching for Teams and Organizations at Coaching Center Berlin.

I still believe our current ways of working, thinking, and making decisions often fail to keep up with today’s complexity. The basis for transforming teams and organizations is the same as in 1:1 coaching — looking at situations from four key perspectives: interior/exterior and individual/collective.

So far, I’ve learned a lot more about alternative organizational structures and how companies of all sizes are best structured to enhance organizational intelligence and resilience.

I’m excited to continue this journey and integrate my insights into my work!

Highlights can’t be planned!

Well, some can.

In fact, coaching often helps identify and create opportunities for those highlights — turning ideas into action and goals into reality. Let me know if you'd like to explore what this could mean for you.

Also, life has its ways to surprise us...

So, here’s to more surprises and highlights in 2025!

Happy New Year! 🎉
