New people have entered my life, new priorities have emerged, and I've gained fresh insights about myself and my life's journey: I felt a strong curiosity to revisit my notes from several years ago, where I had recorded the individuals who had influenced me the most.
To my surprise, I discovered how my perspectives have changed. Nowadays, I'm open to being influenced by different people than in the past. I allow them to plant visions, ideas, drives, and attitudes within me. Allowing others to have an impact on our lives is not only a valuable gift to them but also to ourselves.
When wondering who you are, what you are capable of, and what you want in life, it can be helpful to consider our origins and the factors that have shaped us. Thus, I invite you to reflect: which three people have had a lasting impact on me – and how?
I'd like to encourage you to reflect further: in what way did these people shape me? How did this happen? What valuable lessons did I learn from them? What do I appreciate about that? How does their influence continue to affect my life today?
Some experiences you might have stored away as positive, some as negative. What have you developed from that? By closely examining your life's journey, you might begin to recognize the roots of your present strengths and resources. This process may evoke feelings of appreciation, gratitude, and even reconciliation in some cases.
Take some time to write down your thoughts. Once you've finished, read through your notes again and inquire: what have I learned about myself today?
